Day 25 - Laundry, Bills and Recovery

Burford High Street in the Cotswolds
Today was a stay at home day, since tomorrow we're rising at 6 AM and traveling off to the Cotswolds.  We'll be visiting Oxford, Stratford upon Avon, Burford, Stow-on-the-Wold and the twins of Upper and Lower Slaughter.

It's supposed to rain, so our pictures might be a little on the dreary side.  We'll see.

The single-track roads through the Cotswold countryside are only large enough for one small vehicle to travel, so if two cars meet each other, one has to back up to the nearest passing place to allow the other to pass.  Since neither vehicle has priority, it is usually left to the one nearest a passing place to back up.

The roads aren't heavily traveled so it doesn't happen as often as you might think.

A single-track road with a motor bike parked in a passing place.
Though it's difficult to tell, on a single track road, like the one pictured above, the hedges are close enough to scrape the vehicle's windows.

As for our trip to Scotland, I was asked whether or not either hubby or I was brave enough to try haggis.  Sadly, we did not.  Neither of us wanted to order it as a main meal, and only one place served haggis balls as an appetizer, and we didn't eat there.

Still need to go through the photos for our trip, and we'll have even more tomorrow, I'm sure.  In the meantime, I need to get ready for bed, so I'm going to call it a day.  Until tomorrow night.
